Consider a Position on the Board of Directors

The Board is an active governing and sustaining body of the organization and the agency depends on members to guide and lead the agency.

Members:

  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings
  • Participate in fundraising activities
  • Participate actively on committees or a task force
  • Assume a leadership role in ensuring agency visibility and recognition

Places and Programs for Children, Inc. is a non-profit United Way agency whose mission is to improve the lives of children and families through comprehensive quality early care and education.

Since its founding in 1911 the agency has developed into a multi-faceted organization whose goal is:

  • To operate its four early childhood programs as models of excellence in child care services;
  • To train child care personnel;
  • To advocate for the well-being of young children;
  • And to educate parents and the community on elements of quality child care and strategies to foster healthy families.
